Summary 

The imaging incubation team is a strategic part of the of Advanced Technology Group and works on cutting-edge technology in a rapid prototype environment. We are seeking a talented Senior R&D Engineer to join our team.  You will partner with a seasoned team of engineers to solve light-field capture, image synthesis, and processing problems in an AR/VR environment. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Work as a domain expert in computer graphics/computer vision  

  • Architect end-end light-field capture, processing, transmission and presentation pipeline and drive algorithmic solutions for image quality 

  • Work as a part of the algorithm team.  Create and execute on an algorithm roadmap 

  • Use good development methodology, including quality metrics and test content, to validate algorithmic solutions 

  • Make presentations to colleagues and senior management 

  • Partner Interface with IP legal team, to drive patent generation process 

  • Stay abreast of state-of-art work in the graphics/computer vision field 

 

Qualifications 

  • Master’s or Ph.D. (preferred) in electrical engineering, computer science or related field and 1+ years of industry experience 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in lightfield/graphics/computer vision/computational imaging R&D 

  • Must have hands- on experience with the create, test, refine cycle of algorithm development 

  • Must have experience developing algorithms in Matlab/Python/C++ 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required 

  • Strong team player, able to work with colleagues in research and software development fields 

 

Nice to have 

  • Experience with deep learning based solutions to computer vision problems, a strong plus 

  • Experience in video compression domain (MPEG, H.264, HEVC) a plus
