As a Staff Data Analytics Engineer you are passionate about solving practical business questions with data-driven analytics. You will execute quantitative assessments and analytics that provide context and data-driven evidence to address key business issues. Your analyses will help solve business challenges such as guiding product roadmaps, streamlining engineering development lifecycles, and accelerating customer adoption and utilization trends. 

 

The ideal candidate will prioritize well, communicate effectively, have a consistent track record of delivery, and has excellent software engineering skills. You are extremely versatile with your technology skills and can utilize technology creatively to ensure high product quality with customer focus.

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • As a key member of the Business Intelligence team you will own and maintain the data pipeline, analytics and  warehouse integration.
  • identify and parse data, conducting exploratory analysis, identifying and visualizing trends, building and validating models, and translating quantitative assessments into actionable insights.
  • Partner in a cross-functional team and be the team's point person for any data related tasks (analysis, visualizations, ETLing, etc.)
  • Search for and collect information on various data topics.
  • Conduct regular and exploratory data analysis to generate metrics and to identify trends.
  • Utilize data visualization to explain data and models to stakeholders using off-the-shelve tools (PowerBI, Data Studio, etc.) and building custom dashboards/tools with the help of other developers 
  • Build and validate data models
  • Collaborate with the product development team to enhance the end-to-end data collection capability.
  • Partner with the Dolby data platform team to build data pipelines that transform, aggregate, and integrate Interactivity API data into the central data warehouse.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical fields 
  • 2+ years of professional experience in data engineering, quantitative analysis, or similar
  • Passion for solving practical data-driven business questions
  • Strong programming and algorithmic skills
  • Understanding of statistical methods and software packages
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
  • Hands-on expertise working with large datasets, automation, and data visualization
  • Experience with one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, etc.)

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise with data visualization software integrations (e.g., PowerBI, DataStudio, etc.)
  • Experience with GCP (BigTable, BigQuery)
  • Experience with web development technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript 
  • Expertise creating data models and data warehouses using NoSQL database management systems.
