The Advanced Technology Group is looking to recruit interns in the Imaging Advanced Development group. The qualified candidate will develop novel image/video processing and synthesis technology that enables the next generation of Dolby products.



  • Research novel ways of presenting immersive 360 degree video, with limited information
  • Use machine learning algorithms to fill in visual information, while maintaining spatio-temporal coherence
  • Use ground truth data and develop quality metrics to evaluate performance of different algorithmic implementations
  • Work with other software engineers to ensure algorithms are implementable with parallel processing hardware like GPUs
  • Make presentations to colleagues - write technical reports 



  • Candidates working towards a Master’s or PhD (preferred) in electrical engineering, computer science or related field
  • Solid research background in computer vision or related fields
  • Proven track record of publications in first-tier conferences and/or journals
  • Power-user of Matlab or Python
  • Experience in JAVA, C/C++ a strong plus
  • Experience with OpenGL or OpenCV a plus
  • Strong team player, with good written and verbal communication skills



  • Working towards a Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field d; recent grads who are within 6 months of graduation are also eligible to apply
  • Must be available to work full-time Monday–Friday for 3-months between May/June 2021–August/September 2021.
  • Start dates for the internship are as follows: (*note* these dates are not flexible)
    • Monday, May 24, 2021
    • Monday, June 14, 2021
    • Monday, June 21, 2021
  • COVID UPDATE: This internship will be remote until further notice. Should conditions change, and we can safely allow employees to return to our campuses, there is a possibility of returning to onsite work
