The Senior PQ engineer will demonstrate understanding and prior knowledge of different aspects of the digital image/video processing pipeline in professional and consumer display/capture in TVs, PCs, tablets, and mobile phones. You’ll be working on the development, implementation of cutting-edge picture quality measurement and tuning methods and tools. You will help junior engineers in their daily activities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools and utilities to assist image/video quality tuning and evaluation.
  • Fine-tune image/video quality in display and capture systems.
  • Measure and characterize displays.
  • Create / encode picture quality test / measurement images / video streams.
  • Documentation.
  • Conduct training to support / field / OEM engineers on the tools, utilities developed by the picture equality group
  • Work with cross-functional teams such as product development and quality assurance.
  • Interface with SOC and display vendors, understand SOC’s image/video processing functions.
  • Interface with customers to understand their feedback and requirement, solve field issues.
  • Conduct video quality reviews.

 

Education, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. A Master's degree is preferred, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital image/video processing theory and practice.
  • Understanding digital image/video processing pipelines in TVs, monitors, PCs, game consoles, tablets, and mobile phones.
  • Programming skills in Python, Matlab, and C/C++.
  • Familiar with digital image processing algorithms and techniques, as well as image quality metrics, measurement.
  • Understanding of display backlight technology, and experience in fine-tuning control modules for optimized picture quality.
  • Understanding of advanced display technologies and related processing.
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented work ethic.
  • A track record of successful product development in a consumer and professional display market
