As a Senior Engineer in the Gaming Image Technology Group, the qualified candidate will help develop software that enables the next generation of video technologies created by Dolby and utilized by the gaming industry. Successful candidates will have a passion for video game engines and imaging technology. You will need to communicate and collaborate well with business partners and digitally creative customers pushing the envelope of interactive gaming experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Use your software design and architecture skills to develop content creation tools for video games and interactive media
  • Collaborate with business partners to define interactive workflows and build software products to realize these goals
  • Analyze and understand large, complex source code projects and architecture
  • Learn and understand Dolby video technologies and apply them to solve problems in the video game development space
  • Create modular, well-organized, and adequately documented code
  • Develop unit tests, regression tests, and other test vectors to validate implementations
  • Participate and contribute to future concepts related to the Dolby video and gaming technologies
  • Work in a highly-skilled and cohesive team that is motivated to do high-quality engineering, promote an environment for open and creative thinking, and continuously build and share new skills

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills, and a thorough approach to problem solving
  • Must have solid understanding in C programming, C++ and OOP concepts
  • Experience implementing image processing algorithms
  • Experience with graphics or game engine (Unreal/Unity) rendering pipelines
  • Comfortable with multithreaded programming concepts

Nice to have:

  • Experience with game engine (Unreal/Unity) plug-in development
  • Familiarity with High Dynamic Range video technology
  • Experience with color space management
  • Experience with shader languages such as: HLSL, GLSL, MSL, etc.
  • Experience with modern graphics APIs (Direct3D, Vulkan, OpenGL, Metal, etc.)
  • Software development for Android and iOS mobile platforms
  • Software development for Gaming platforms such as PlayStation or Xbox
