Overview:
 

Are you ready to shape the future of video entertainment? As a Senior Engineering Manager for Image Processing at Dolby, you’ll lead a talented team of engineers in developing core image processing components for Dolby Vision products. Your work will have a profound impact across all of Dolby’s businesses, from the creation of video content for cinema, broadcast, and OTT, to enhancing the way the world consumes video on various devices. Bring your deep expertise in image processing, color science, and video pipelines to the leader in HDR and Wide Color Gamut entertainment and help us redefine the video experience.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of skilled engineers to develop cutting-edge core image processing technology.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Core Technology Manager to manage a prioritized roadmap for both existing and new component releases.
  • Partner with Dolby’s internal imaging research groups to productize innovative technologies that support your team’s development efforts.
  • Work closely with imaging product managers and technical leaders to understand product needs and influence the design and features of components.
  • Collaborate with a QA leader to ensure the highest quality in software releases.
  • Drive the execution of development projects on schedule using Agile methodology.
  • Create and communicate a compelling team vision that motivates and inspires.
  • Foster collaboration with other engineering leaders to strengthen technology cohesion, culture, and team morale.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with high-performance imaging pipelines and algorithm engineering.
  • Expertise in performance tuning and optimization for CPU and GPU platforms.
  • Experience in High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging engineering.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience in C/C++.
  • Proven ability to build and mentor an engineering team.
  • A history of innovation and creativity.
  • Strong collaboration skills in a globally distributed organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clear and effective articulation.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of Image Quality engineering.
  • Understanding of Color Science and Tone Mapping.
  • Experience with Dolby Vision technology.
  • MATLAB imaging experience.
  • Familiarity with SMPTE and ITU video standards.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $206,100 - $283,500, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
