What will you do:


The position is responsible for testing Dolby software and hardware products that enable the next generation of Dolby technologies. The employee is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of test engineers and leading and delivering complex projects. Full analysis of product technical documentation and requirements will be required to plan, design, develop, execute tests and report results. The position requires the candidate to be proficient in development languages for automation and to be capable of identifying, building and re-using automation tools where required.


  • Lead, mentor and coach medium to large test teams, including responsibility for large test deliverable/s.
  • Monitor team performance and participate in recruitment, interviewing and hiring process
  • Prioritise and set team expectations on activities/responsibilities to deliver key QA projects
  • Conduct early project scoping in collaboration with project and development teams.
  • Review proposed technologies, develop test strategies and contribute proposals for testability.
  • Provide project leadership including resource allocation, project planning, task allocation and test progress tracking.
  • Oversee the teams agile process, managing the backlog and sprint plans
  • Lead test planning including test design, test coverage, test approach, risk assessment, and reporting metrics.
  • Interface with other teams both in same and different business units.
  • Design and implement new test methods to address next generation capabilities in Dolby products.
  • Design, set up, configure and maintain software testing labs and environments.
  • Drive the automation agenda, identifying opportunities to automate and coaching the team through best practices, coding and framework maintenance
  • Utilize and adapt existing test automation tools.
  • Design and develop new automation tools.
  • Report issues through a formal bug tracking system and work with the engineering team to help isolate, debug and resolve issues/bugs.
  • Manage bug review meetings and analyze bug status data and metrics.
  • Represent QA as a member of the project teams.
  • Understand and conform to QA standards and processes.
  • Stay abreast of industry software testing tools and best practices and make significant contributions to the development and deployment of new test technologies, tools or methods.



What we are looking for:


  • Track record in leading and delivering complex test projects
  • 8+ years experience working as an automation or software test engineer or equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of test methodologies, test design and test best practises
  • Demonstrable coding experience in Python
  • Familiarity with Linux systems and Linux command line control
  • Significant test automation skills around designing, building and maintaining test frameworks
  • Strong experience in defining test scenarios from requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills, time management and organizational skills, and a thorough approach to problem solving
  • Thorough knowledge and demonstrable experience with agile delivery methodologies
