At Dolby U we are looking for undergraduate/graduate students across Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science and broader STEM disciplines to join a cutting-edge Research and Development facility for a practically focused paid internship. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with world class engineers and researchers on cutting edge technologies, as well as continuing your learning through a dynamic on the job experience.


As an Intern DSP/Software Engineer; you will gain experience designing, implementing and testing Dolby algorithms and software, using your engineering creativity to develop solutions to technical problems. We have multiple roles so you could be working on an exciting array of technology areas from object based audio bringing Dolby Atmos to the home, delivering awesome audio experiences in mobile devices, audio capture technology to generate content with surround sound, or bring Dolby conferencing technology Dolby Voice to the Cloud.

The Dolby U internships are a great way to get exposure to cool technology areas, grow your skills, and a pathway to full time opportunities with Dolby.


What we look for:

  • Current Electrical Engineering/Software Engineering/Computer Science/Mechatronics or similar STEM student
  • Communication and collaboration skills
  • The ability to work unsupervised when required.
  • Software development in a programming language and a scripting language for example C/C++,Python or Matlab;
  • Understanding of software design and software lifecycle maintenance;

  • A can-do attitude and are not afraid to ask questions.
  • A genuine love of technology and writing great code;
  • A passion for audio, video, movies or music;
