The Opportunity

Dolby is transitioning from an ingredient brand to an experience brand. We’re building direct relationships with consumers and building PaaS for our offerings. As a Sr AV platform development engineer, you will collaborate with talented engineers as part of a high-impact team that operates in an internal start-up environment developing audio-video technologies for a PaaS offering. For this role we are welcoming senior engineers with knowledge in digital audio-video algorithms prototyping, software DSP implementations and porting to digital platforms (Mobile and Cloud computing).


The Role:


  • Collaborate with product research teams to refine and guide research deliverables.
  • Analyze and model audio and video signal processing implementations for products
  • Create and experiment to develop solutions to signal processing problems in C/C++/Python
  • Understand and work with audio interfaces (recording and playback) on various mobile and embedded platforms..
  • Optimize low-level, performance-critical code on digital platforms (Mobile / Cloud computing)
  • Port machine learning DSP algorithms on digital platforms (Mobile / Cloud computing)
  • Write real-time signal processing applications with an understanding of product requirements.



  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or computer science or equivalent.
  • 4+ years’ experience with digital signal processing using C/C++/Python
  • Experience/exposure writing software and real-time systems for iOS/Android devices
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing techniques, including:
    • Digital Audio and/or Video coding and transformations
    • Audio/Video post-processing algorithms
    • Basic DSP techniques such as IIR and FIR filtering
    • Transforms such as FFT and DCT
  • Experience in objective testing of DSP algorithms
  • An understanding of processor architecture for signal processing applications.
  • Object oriented software design skills.
