This role will be responsible to design, implement, and maintain elegant and effective systems that support converged communications for Dolby’s global operations, including solutions for voice calls, video conferencing, support call routing, and persistent chat. This position also ensures the stability, security, and performance of the corporate video and telephony infrastructure. You will work with global team members to help maintain technical roadmaps, assist in project forecasting, and lead research and development efforts pertaining to development of new features and capabilities of Dolby’s UC systems.  You will maintain, administer, and troubleshoots operations on a day-to-day basis. This position is part of the Global Infrastructure team within IT and reports to the Manager of Infrastructure Applications.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure Dolby’s Unified Communications (UC) applications (RingCentral, New Voice Media, Microsoft Teams, BlueJeans, and others) are supported, enhanced, and constantly evolving to meet Dolby’s communications needs.
  • Create and maintain business and system requirements, technical diagrams, functional documentation, test cases, and system processes & procedures documents pertaining to the configuration of our UC systems.
  • Complete day-to-day operational activities and promptly respond to end-user requests for assistance with our UC systems in accordance with our IT service standards and using ITIL processes.
  • Act as a technology evangelist that leads training efforts to ensure Dolby workers are aware of the capabilities of our UC solutions and keeping them appraised of new features.
  • Coordinate with vendors to escalate issues related to our UC solutions and to understand their UC product roadmaps and their impact on Dolby’s UC landscape.
  • As needed, provide business systems analysis and back-up support for non-UC solutions, such as ServiceNow, Box, Miro, and other Infrastructure Applications.

 

Education, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or an equivalent degree with minimum of 5 years of experience deploying and maintaining enterprise Unified Communications (UC) systems, especially SaaS-based UC solutions (preferably RingCentral) with trong understanding of networking protocols.
  • Experience creating the functional deliverables of the software development life-cycle (SDLC), such as requirement documents, functional design documents, test cases, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, including extensive experience meeting and presenting finding to senior executives.

 

Technologies:

  • Unified Communications (UC) telephony and video conferencing solutions, including RingCentral, NewVoice Media, BlueJeans, and Microsoft Teams as well as Slack, and any third-party media services technologies.

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Flexibility to adjust work hours to allow for video conferencing meetings with team members in other time zones, especially the United States and Asia Pacific.
  • Travel for business as required (expected to be less than 10%).
  • Provide on-call support for major outages and issues.
