Summary

 

In this role as IT Lab Specialist you will be responsible of supporting our business across Europe from the Wroclaw location. This is a hands-on role translating business requirements into solutions, with direct influence in managing infrastructure and expanding services. Your insight into the network component of the infrastructure will prove valuable to allow us deliver best-in-class environment for engineers working on Dolby’s products. You will be exposed to engineering hardware and software in our labs, directly touching upon topics such as: various operating systems, applications, inventory and stock management, network connectivity, compute resources, storage services, cloud infrastructure, documentation, quoting and ordering and even cutting-edge lab devices.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Communication – technical liaison between engineers, IT operations teams and architects, providing basic operational insight to upcoming implementations including validation of ongoing solutions supportability.
  • Network connectivity support with basic knowledge to manage and operate network access and configuration for engineering purposes.
  • Operating system support with a basic level of understanding for the following operating systems: Windows, Mac OS and Linux.
  • Application and services – have a basic understanding of Active Directory, networks and configuration of tools.
  • Operational delivery – you will be expected to deliver and conduct research in a wide area of service requests, retaining information quickly. High self-motivation, eye for details, the ability to deliver, to assist and to present in user-friendly language are key for your success.

 

The expectations of the role:

 

  • You will be work in a lab type of environment where IT requirements have to be reconciled with ever-changing business requirements, supporting a divers spectrum of products.
  • High customer service orientation with a will to maintain contact with business representatives.
  • Work in a task-based environment with an extension of taking part in IT projects of various scale.
  • Effective task prioritization and execution in compliance with service level agreements, internal IT standards, lab policies, corporate and engineering standards.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities, frequently in an independent or time-constrained manner.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Educative approach towards end users, providing guidance, consultation and training.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Good written English and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware
  • Basic network knowledge and practical skills in the are of local area networks
  • Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows, Mac OS and Linux
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities
  • Interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills
  • Strong documentation skills and willingness to document

  • Travel for business as required
  • Occasionally work during odd hours to support project go-lives or coordinate with team members in other time zones for critical projects and initiatives
  • Willingness to learn and expand knowledge
