The information security analyst intern works closely with the information security team to operate a comprehensive information security program. This includes measuring compliance with security policies, processes and standards. The security intern works will construct and monitor technical controls that meet specific security requirements and ensure that security configurations are maintained.

The security intern will report to an information security manager while also working closely with IT infrastructure and applications teams.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Works with our lead analyst in detecting, investigating, and responding to security incidents within the organization's computer systems or network infrastructure.
  • Monitor and analyze security events and alerts to identify potential security incidents. This involves utilizing security tools, log analysis, and threat intelligence to identify patterns or indicators of compromise.
  • Learn to conduct in-depth investigations of security incidents to determine the root cause, scope, and impact. This may involve examining logs, system artifacts, and conducting forensic analysis to understand the attacker's methods and tactics.
  • Execute incident response plans to contain, mitigate, and remediate security incidents.
  • Report to IT security management concerning residual risk, vulnerabilities, and other security exposures, including misuse of information assets and noncompliance with security policy.
  • Assist in the coordination and completion of information security operations documentation.
  • Work with Dolby's IT department and members of the information security team to identify, select and implement technical controls.
  • Assist security administrators and IT staff in the resolution of reported security incidents.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals: Understand key concepts in networking, operating systems, and common security technologies.
  • Operating systems knowledge: Windows, macOS & Linux.
  • Analytical thinking: Ability to analyze and interpret security events, identify patterns, and determine the appropriate response actions.
  • Communication & Problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to pay close attention to detail, ensuring accurate incident documentation and evidence collection.

 

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with cybersecurity methodologies, tactics, techniques, processes, and procedures.
  • Python programming skills.
  • Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other incident response tools.

 

Eligibility

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
