Summary
Join our team as a Sr IT Network Engineer, where you'll be responsible for operational support, enhancements, and project activities related to Dolby’s network services and devices. You'll leverage ITIL processes (e.g., incident, problem, service request, and change management) to resolve network issues and enhance our architecture to meet business needs. Additionally, you'll handle various administrative and operational tasks to ensure our network devices and systems are inventoried, patched, and well-documented. You'll also provide technical networking consultation to IT support staff, engineering teams, and end-users to support business initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
- Research, design, implement, maintain, monitor, consult, and report on WAN, LAN, wireless networking, remote access, firewall maintenance, network applications, network services security, and networked systems monitoring, auditing, and reporting.
- Deploy, maintain, and consult on all network components, functions, naming conventions, and IP service implementations (IP schemes, VLANs, routing, DNS, WINS, DHCP, IPSec, etc.).
- Provide and maintain comprehensive documentation of Dolby’s network infrastructure.
- Support secured remote access infrastructure interconnectivity for network resources to mobile workers, home-office employees, and external business partners.
- Evaluate and deploy additional networking tools and functionality as needed. Maintain a parallel test lab for testing new network products and disaster recovery situations.
- Act as 3rd level support and networking technology resource to the Service Desk and IT field support teams. Collaborate with and provide guidance to Service Desk staff, client computing team, engineering teams, and others on network-related projects.
- Participate in a follow-the-sun 24x7 on-call IT Infrastructure engineer rotation with other members of the IT Infrastructure group.
- Participate in on-duty calls outside standard business hours.
- Independently manage the execution of minor projects focused on delivering new system functionality, including defining deliverables and milestones, reporting project status, and coordinating with internal and external partners to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Perform tasks assigned by the immediate manager to complete performance objectives and assist team members as needed.
- Mentor and manage more junior team members on technical issues.
- Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery). Maintain, administer, and troubleshoot network operations on a day-to-day basis.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as an IT Senior Network Engineer in a corporate environment with global networks.
- Expert knowledge of Cisco networking products of all types.
- Proficiency in Python or Ansible for scripting and network automation.
- Advanced knowledge of SD-WAN.
- Advanced knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Networking.
- Advanced knowledge of Palo Alto Networks (PAN) firewall platforms and VPN solutions.
- Experience managing large-scale global projects involving team members in multiple regions.
- Excellent communication, listening, and customer service skills.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external business partners.
- Experience with technical customer solution designs for non-standard business requests.
- Strong analytical skills, solution research and testing capabilities, and project coordination skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki gateways, switches, and WiFi.
- Experience with Arista switching platforms.
- Understanding of ITIL processes.
Job Expectations
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to interact with team members in other regions, including the need to perform a later schedule often (e.g., until 8pm European time) to allow for more interaction with the team in the San Francisco office.
- Perform duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
