Summary:

As a System Engineer in the Entertainment group, you will create and maintain professional Audio Transcoder SDK (system development kit) used by Dolby licensees to integrate and test Dolby technologies in professional audio/video processing equipment for TV stations to enable production, distribution and broadcasting of high-quality audio for UHD/4k TV channels around the world.

In this position, you will work closely with other engineers, product management, and marketing to define and enable the next generation of Dolby technologies for future of Television. Your detailed understanding of product design and broadcast audio workflows will be essential to develop effective solutions to technical problems in the market. You will stay abreast of the latest technology by interfacing with licensees and by seeking out relevant information from other sources such as industry whitepapers, data sheets, etc.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain development materials which are going to be integrated by professional audio/video processing equipment providers
  • Specify technical documentation supporting Dolby technologies
  • Specify system requirements for products integrating Dolby technologies based on thorough understanding of their use cases
  • Design test procedures and generate test signals conforming to product requirements for compliance verification of Dolby technologies
  • Utilize and adapt existing test automation scripts.
  • Develop testing tools in Python that will facilitate the adoption of Dolby technologies (optionally).

 

Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. in acoustics, sound engineering, maths, physics, electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in various software environments like Windows, Unix, Linux, etc. is required.
  • Ability to achieve results, meet deadlines, and adjust to quickly changing priorities in a fast-paced software development environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills, and a thorough approach to problem solving.
  • Interest in audio field.


Nice to have:

  • Experience in programming in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash.
  • Signal processing knowledge
